CPSC Approves New Federal Safety Standard for Neck Floats to Prevent Infant Deaths and Serious Injuries

"On June 27, 2024, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has approved a consumer product safety standard to improve the safety of neck floats intended for children up to four years old. The new federal mandatory standard aims to prevent deaths and injuries from drowning by addressing hazards such as inflation-related slips, non-inflation-related slips, restraint system failures, and submersion without slipping."
