New data, more corporate access? Integrity Watch EU update shows Commission leaves civil society in the dark

On April 8, 2025, the "Integrity Watch EU" received a major update regarding transparency in EU lobbying activities. The platform now provides automatic daily updates and includes meetings with Commission management staff, showing how much this constitutes a significant advance for lobby transparency in the EU. The new data reveals that over 5800 meetings were held by EU lobby organisations since December 2024, compared to only 2183 meetings during the previous mandate period. The top-ranked stakeholders are corporate entities, including agriculture, automobiles, and chemicals, with civil society representatives making up a mere 16% of all meetings held.
