Brief

On May 5, 2023, the National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI) released a study on the technological landscape of batteries in Brazil and globally. The study, carried out by the Group Technical Intelligence in Industrial Property (GTIPI), identified over 518,000 families of patent applications related to batteries worldwide, with China leading the sector, followed closely by other Asian countries. In Brazil, 1,599 patent applications were recovered since 2013.
