"On 08/08/2025, the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner issued an update regarding Australian Information Commissioner takes civil penalty action against Optus. The Australian Information Commissioner has filed civil penalty proceedings in the Federal Court against Singtel Optus Pty Limited and Optus Systems Pty Limited for allegedly seriously interfering with the privacy of approximately 9.5 million Australians by failing to protect their personal information from misuse, interference, and loss."
