High Court Imposes Life Sentences in Rape Case of Vulnerable Minor

"On 14 APRIL 2025, the High Court of South Africa imposed life sentences on five accused individuals in a rape case involving a vulnerable minor girl. The case highlights the brutality suffered by the child and the gravity of the crimes committed." The accused, including two uncles and an uncle's brother, were convicted of one count of Rape under Section 3 of the Criminal Law (Sexual Offences and Related Matters) Amendment Act 32 of 2007.
