"On June 17, 2025, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada issued an update regarding Data breach at 23andMe is a reminder to all organizations to prioritize privacy, Privacy Commissioner of Canada cautions in wake of investigation. A joint investigation by the OPC and UK ICO found that 23andMe failed to implement adequate security measures, leading to unauthorized access to sensitive personal data of nearly 7 million customers, including over 320,000 Canadians."
