Brief

"On 05/06/2025", the "European Court of Justice (ECJ)" issued an update regarding "Pumpyanskiy v Council". Advocate General Laila Medina's Opinions propose that the Court dismiss appeals challenging listing criterion (g) and its assessment, stating that it does not require demonstration of influence over the Russian Government or a link between listed persons and the regime. The Opinions also consider listing criterion (g) as lawful for freezing funds, relating to leading businesspersons involved in economic sectors providing a substantial source of revenue to the Russian government.
