After action by the MPF, agreement guarantees historical reparation to indigenous Avá-Guarani affected by the construction of Itaipu

On March 25, 2025, the Federal Public Ministry (Ministério Público Federal – MPF) issued an update regarding After action by the MPF, agreement guarantees historical reparation to indigenous Avá-Guarani affected by the construction of Itaipu. The agreement ensures the acquisition of three thousand hectares of rural land for the communities and allocates R$ 240 million for the acquisition of areas currently in dispute.
