MPF appeals to condemn Union and State of Acre for omission in investigations of the death of rubber tree in the dictatorship

"On March 14, 2025, the Federal Public Ministry (Ministério Público Federal – MPF) appealed to the Regional Federal Tribunal of the 1st Region (Tribunal Regional Federal da 1ª Região – TRF1), seeking to condemn the Union and State of Acre for omissions in investigations into the death of Wilson Pinheiro, a rubber tree leader assassinated in 1980 during the military dictatorship. The MPF argued that the state's failure to investigate adequately was a violation of human rights, warranting reparations."
