On 12/03/2025, the German Patent and Trade Mark Office issued an update regarding "DPMA annual statistics 2024: significantly more patent applications from Germany". The DPMA reported a 4.0% increase in patent applications from within Germany to 40,064, with international applications decreasing by 4.8%. This resulted in a total of 59,260 inventions being filed for patent, a slight increase of 1.0% over the previous year.
