Federal Revenue launches booklet to guide new mayors

On February 11, 2025, the Federal Revenue Service (Receita Federal) published a booklet titled "Orientações para conformidade tributária dos órgãos do poder público" to guide new mayors on federal revenue matters. The booklet provides practical guidance on various tax-related processes, including declaring taxes, regularizing tax situations, and requesting tax refunds, aiming to ensure the fiscal health of municipalities and guarantee the continuity of resource transfers from the Fundo de Participação dos Municípios (FPM).
