Santana do Livramento/RS. A Polícia Federal deflagrou, nesta quinta-feira (30/1), a Operação False Expectation, dedicada a investigar o delito de corrupção eleitoral durante as eleições municipais de 2024 na cidade de São Gabriel.
Policiais federais cumpriram dois mandados de busca e apreensão: um no estabelecimento comercial utilizado para o armazenamento e a distribuição das cestas básicas, e outro na residência do empresário apontado como um dos responsáveis pela entrega dos produtos em troca da obtenção do voto.
Durante a ação, foram apreendidos aparelhos celulares, anotações, documentos e equipamentos de câmeras de segurança dos locais objetos da busca. As ordens judiciais foram expedidas pelo Tribunal Regional Eleitoral do Rio Grande do Sul (TRE/RS).
A investigação teve início a partir da apresentação de informações relatando a distribuição de grande quantidade de cestas básicas por um empresário da cidade, proprietário de um comércio na região. As investigações apontaram que a distribuição se dava em troca da obtenção do voto para determinado candidato a prefeito.
Após diligências, foi possível obter fortes indícios de que o empresário teria armazenado as cestas básicas em seu comércio e, próximo ao pleito, distribuído em troca da obtenção do voto.
Durante as investigações, foi possível constatar que a empresa utilizada para o armazenamento e entrega dos materiais teria firmado três contratos com a Prefeitura de São Gabriel, entre os anos de 2023 e 2024, os quais somaram R$ 48 mil.
