Brief

The National Institutes of Health Amendments of 1990 was enacted on November 16, 1990. This Act aims to establish a nonprofit corporation called the National Foundation for Biomedical Research (NFBR) to provide endowments for positions at the National Institutes of Health to conduct biomedical research. The NFBR shall also recruit scientists and support staffing, equipment, and quarters for biomedical research. Additionally, the Act establishes a National Center for Medical Rehabilitation Research within the Institute, which shall conduct and support medical rehabilitation research and training, as well as coordinate activities with other agencies of the Federal Government.
