Brief
The National Health Service Corps Revitalization Amendments of 1990 is a public law that amends the Public Health Service Act to revise and extend the program for the National Health Service Corps, and establish certain programs of grants to the States for improving health services in the States. The act provides for revisions in the general program for the National Health Service Corps, including provisions regarding primary health services, recruitment and retention of Corps members, and removal of a limitation on supplemental pay during initial years of service. It also establishes priorities in assignment of Corps personnel, and makes other technical amendments to the Public Health Service Act. The act is effective October 1, 1990, or upon the date of enactment, whichever occurs later.
