On January 16, 2023, the Brazilian Institute for Environment and Renewable Natural Resources (Ibama) received seven new AW119 Koala helicopters. This expansion increases their transport capacity by 75%, flight hours by 40%, and water drop capacity by 133%. The upgraded fleet will enhance Ibama's efforts to combat deforestation, illegal mining, and forest fires, as well as respond to environmental emergencies.
