"On January 14, 2025, the Home Office announced a public consultation seeking views on three proposals to combat ransomware attacks. The consultation considers a targeted ban on ransomware payments for public sector bodies and critical infrastructure, a ransomware payment prevention regime, and a mandatory reporting regime for ransomware incidents. The NCSC CEO Richard Horne emphasized the importance of organizations building their defenses against cyber attacks."
