"On December 11, 2024, the Ministry of Labor and Employment (MTE) coordinated the 23rd meeting of the Permanent Tripartite Joint Commission (CTPP). The CTPP determined immediate prohibition on workers' presence in Zonas de Autosalvamento (ZAS) of mining dams built with upstream tailings. Additionally, a 60-month deadline was set for updating rules for downstream tailings dams, maintaining current NR-22 text regarding prohibitions and exceptions in existing ZAS."
