FTC Sends Refund Payments to Consumers Impacted by Epic Games’ Unlawful Billing Practices

On September 12, 2024, the Federal Trade Commission issued an update regarding FTC Sends Refund Payments to Consumers Impacted by Epic Games’ Unlawful Billing Practices. The FTC is sending refunds totaling over $72 million to consumers who were tricked into making unwanted purchases in Fortnite. Recipients will receive about half of their payment via PayPal and the other half as checks, with an average payout of around $114 per consumer.
