G7 Cities Ministers Agree on “Joint Action” to Collaborate on Urban and Housing Policies – Sustainable urban and housing policies discussed in Rome, Italy

On November 3-4, 2024, Japan's Minister for Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism attended the G7 Cities Ministers Meeting in Rome, Italy. The meeting discussed global common challenges in sustainable urban development and policies across countries, with participants agreeing on the importance of collaboration beyond the G7 framework to share knowledge and expertise. The meeting resulted in a joint statement (Appendix), with participating nations including Italy, Canada, Germany, France, Japan, UK, US, EU, OECD, U7, and BIE.
