On April 3, 2024, Léa Teles, superintendente de Fiscalização da Anatel, emphasized the importance of expanding the agency's legal competences to tackle challenges associated with illegal activities in the digital environment. Currently, Anatel collaborates with over 20,000 telecom operators to block illegal online betting platforms at the request of the Ministry of Finance, having blocked more than 5,250 sites with their support.
