On November 29, 2024, the National Institute of Industrial Property issued an update regarding "Brazil and Europe renew agreement for cooperation on patents". The partnership between Brazil's INPI and the European Patent Office (EPO) has been renewed for five more years, with the aim of continuing the Patent Prosecution Highway (PPH) project-pilot. This collaboration enables Brazilians to accelerate patent analysis in the EPO using results from the Brazilian examination, and vice versa.
