"On 25/11/2024, the Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment issued an update regarding South Africa welcomes COP29 outcomes as a step in the right direction. The UNFCCC 29th Conference of the Parties (COP29) concluded with the adoption of the Baku Climate Unity Pact, including a New Collective Quantified Goal on climate finance and Global Goal on Adaptation, which will facilitate investments in green technologies and economic opportunities for South Africa."
