The Civil Remedies (Insurance Companies and Insurance Holding Companies) Regulations were enacted on November 28, 2006, under the Insurance Companies Act. The regulations provide civil remedies for insurance companies and holding companies, including prescribed percentages of voting rights and circumstances under which insiders may purchase or sell securities without contravening subsections 294(1)(d), (3), and (6) of the Act. These regulations come into force on the day they are registered.
