The Civil Remedies (Banks and Bank Holding Companies) Regulations were made under the Bank Act. These regulations set out civil remedies for banks and bank holding companies, including requirements for take-over bids and insider trading. The prescribed percentage of voting rights for banks or bank holding companies is 10%. The regulations also define take-over bid for various jurisdictions across Canada. The regulations came into force on November 28, 2006.
