"On 26 February 2024, the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) published an Amendment to the National and Provincial Party Elections Broadcasts and Political Advertisements Regulations. The amendment was challenged by the Democratic Alliance in the High Court of South Africa on 19 March 2024, which led to a judgment upholding the challenge and setting aside the amended Regulation 4(2)." "The court ordered that Regulation 4(2) be reinstated in its pre-amendment form, requiring Political Election Broadcasts (PEBs) to be submitted at least five working days prior to broadcast.
