"On 05/11/2024, the Competition and Markets Authority issued an update regarding CMA provisionally finds Vodafone / Three could address competition concerns through network investment and customer protections.


The CMA has published a Remedies Working Paper to seek views on a proposed remedy package that aims to improve the quality of the merged company's mobile network and boost competition between mobile network operators.


The proposed remedies include:



  • A legally binding commitment to undertake a joint network plan, which sets out significant investment in the UK network over 8 years.

  • Short-term protections for retail consumers and mobile virtual network operators, including retaining existing tariffs and data plans for at least 3 years.
