The Health Insurance Amendment (Extended Medicare Safety Net) Act 2012 is an Act to amend the Health Insurance Act 1973, and for other purposes.

This Act may be cited as the Health Insurance Amendment (Extended Medicare Safety Net) Act 2012. The commencement of various provisions of this Act are specified in column 1 of the table, with commencing dates ranging from September 12, 2012, to October 13, 2012.

The amendments made by this Act include changes to subsections 10ACA(7A), 10ADA(8A), and 10AE(1) of the Health Insurance Act 1973. Subsections 10ACA(7AA) and 10ADA(8AA) of the Health Insurance Act 1973 are also amended, with an application provision stating that these amendments apply in relation to services rendered after the commencement of this item.
