Brief
This Act amends several Acts to give effect to provisions of the Enhancing Online Safety for Children (Consequential Amendments) Act 2015. It is a companion Act that implements amendments made by the Enhancing Online Safety for Children (Consequential Amendments) Act 2015 in other Acts. The Australian Communications and Media Authority Act 2005, Broadcasting Services Act 1992, Freedom of Information Act 1982, Telecommunications Act 1997, Criminal Code Act 1995, and Archives Act 1983 are the principal laws amended by this Act.
The amendments made include:
- Repeal or amendment of paragraphs in Schedule 2 of the Australian Communications and Media Authority Act 2005
- Amendments to Division 1 of Part II of Schedule 2 of the Freedom of Information Act 1982
- Amendments to Section 284 of the Telecommunications Act 1997
- Repeal or amendment of paragraphs in Section 299 of the Telecommunications Act 1997
- Repeal or amendment of sections of the Criminal Code Act 1995
- Transitional provisions relating to the commencement of this Act
