The Australian Communications and Media Authority (Consequential and Transitional Provisions) Act 2005 is an Act that aims to amend laws and deal with transitional matters in connection with the establishment of the Australian Communications and Media Authority. The Act may be cited as the Australian Communications and Media Authority (Consequential and Transitional Provisions) Act 2005.

The commencement of this Act is specified in column 1 of the table, which states that sections 1 to 3 and anything not elsewhere covered by this table commence on the day the Act receives the Royal Assent.

Schedule 4 of the Act contains transitional provisions that deal with references to, and things done by or in relation to, the Australian Broadcasting Authority (ABA) and the Australian Communications Authority (ACA).

The Act defines certain terms, including ABA, ACA, ACMA, and imposition Act. The liability means any liability, duty, or obligation, whether actual, contingent, or prospective, but does not include a liability, duty, or obligation imposed by an Act or regulations.

This compilation includes amendments up to Act No. 109, 2014.
