Summary:
The Brazilian Ministry of Human Rights and Citizenship (MDHC) will participate in the examination of the Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights of the United Nations (UN) in Geneva, Switzerland, starting on September 28. The examination will focus on the third periodic report of Brazil on the implementation of the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, submitted in 2020 and supplemented in 2022. The Brazilian delegation, led by the Secretary-General of the MDHC, Rita Oliveira, will present the country's policies and actions on the topic and respond to questions from the 18 independent experts composing the Committee. The examination is expected to produce recommendations for Brazil. The agenda includes a meeting with civil society and two days of examination at the Palais Wilson.
