The Brazilian National Data Protection Authority (ANPD) has launched a public consultation on a preliminary study about the legal hypothesis of treating personal data in the legitimate interest of the data subject, as provided for in Article 7, IX of the General Law for the Protection of Personal Data (LGPD). The consultation is open until September 30, 2023, and can be accessed through the Participa Mais Brasil platform. The aim of the consultation is to gather contributions and feedback from the public to help create a guideline on the legitimate interest hypothesis.
